Woman aims to win beauty award
Originally from Fairview Mission in Umzumbe, Sinegugu Cele said the nomination means that her brand is growing.
Sinegugu Hlobisile Cele and her business, Good to Glow Beauty and Cosmetics, have been nominated for the fourth annual Next Billionaire Awards under the beauty and image consulting category.
The business awards are hosted by Umlando Creatives.
Originally from Fairview Mission in Umzumbe, Cele said the nomination means that her brand is growing.
She is asking the public to vote for her, so that she can bag the award.
The former Marburg Secondary pupil said that Good to Glow Beauty and Cosmetics, makes and sells handmade body, lip and hair products, suitable for the whole family.
She said they are meant to alleviate and heal skin conditions while also maintaining healthy skin and hair.
“We also make skin and hair-related accessories. Our products are body butter, hair butter, lip butter, satin bonnets, satin pillowcases and scrunchies,” she said.
Cele said her passion for beauty and wellness started at an early age, saying that it was mainly instilled by her mom who also encouraged her and her sister to embrace their natural beauty without the need to alter it.
“Whenever we had any illness whether it was skin-related or not, she always looked for a natural alternative and that is how I slowly started getting interested.
But it was only in my 20s that I was more intentional about skincare and self-care and started researching and learning about the various ingredients, their origin and their benefits,” she said.
She added that her aim is to expand her business by creating a more extensive product line and also to plant her own raw materials, processing them and selling them.
“I also hope to eventually cut out the middleman from whom I order my raw materials. This will help expand the business and also employ people in my neighbourhood. I was over the moon when I received the news of my nomination as I have only been in business for just over a year. This is my first first-ever business nomination.
