Darion Langenhoven is coloured and lives in Margate.
His home language language is Afrikaans. He comes from a family of five, three older brothers and a sister.
Family traditions: We still maintain having Sunday lunch at times, when the women prepare a meal after church, and prayer led by the men every evening.
Misconception: What I feel is misunderstood about coloured people is that we are associated with violence. I come from a very violent past but I am not a result of what my circumstances were. Coloured people are a bridge between cultures and nations. I believe we can unite people.
Quoting mom: The best advice I ever received was from my mother. “My son whatever you do, remain with God”.
