Social impact award for entrepreneur
Lindokuhle Zulu was among two Mangosuthu University of Technology students who entered the regional level of the annual EDHE Entrepreneurship Intervarsity competition and won in their respective categories.
The South Coast’s Lindokuhle Zulu recently bagged an award at the Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education (EDHE) Intervarsity competition.
Zulu was among two Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) students who entered the regional level of the annual contest and won in their respective categories.
This competition is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Universities South Africa (USA) and EDHE.
The former Olwandle High School pupil’s organisation, Unity and Interaction Foundation won in the Existing Social Impact Business category.
At a regional level, MUT competed against the Durban University of Technology, the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and the University of Zululand.
He is not only the founder and director of the foundation, he is also an Advanced Diploma in Marketing student, and he is the university’s second winner at the regional EDHE Intervarsity competition.
MUT lecturer in the Department of Human Resources Management, Ntombifuthi Mthembu said Zulu will be representing the university at the national round of the competition in Gauteng from November 29 to 30.
She described Zulu as a passionate social entrepreneur who focuses on identifying and developing youth talent, thus taking them away from the social ills that they are exposed to.
Meanwhile Zulu thanked the coordinators of the programme, Mthembu and Eddie Selebi, another lecturer in the Department of Human Resources and Management, for their continued support
