Sports day a first for Bangbizo Primary

The school's management believes that sports promote physical activity and healthy competition among learners.

Bangibizo Primary School recently held its first open sports day at Nkanini Sports Ground under Umzumbe Municipality.

According to a statement from the school, it had to embark on the sports day because it believes that sports promote physical activity and healthy competition among learners.

It added that the school is very active in sports and athletics but it has never held a sports day where parents were invited.

Zebras walked away as the 2023 champions.

“The day was momentous for both learners and parents because parents were also given a chance to showcase their sprinting skills and they did that very well. The school awarded them with medals. The school has four inter-houses, Falcons, Lions, Cheetahs and Zebras. Zebras walked away as the 2023 champions, and they received the biggest trophy.”

It added: ” As a school, we extend our gratitude to sports activity coordinators from the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture, our local municipality (Umzumbe) and our local clinic (Mfundo Arnold Lushaba) for the amazing support they gave us on the day. We are also humbled by the comments and feedback from the parents and we promise to do even much better next year.”
