Track Torque: It’s Max again in Brazil
There was a party atmosphere in Brazil which I'm sure went on late into the night.
Max Verstappen won the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil last Sunday with ease, being more than eight seconds ahead of Lando Norris, who drove a brilliant race in his McLaren Mercedes.
Equally brilliant was Fernando Alonso in his Aston Martin Mercedes, who re-took Sergio Perez on the last lap of the race to take third position in his Red Bull Honda.
A further six seconds behind was Lance Stroll, in the other Aston Martin, in fifth position.
Ferrari were off the boil with Charles Leclerc, in his Prancing Horse, out on the formation lap, but Carlos Sainz was home in sixth.
Pierre Gasly had a good race in his Alpine Renault and beat Lewis Hamilton to the flag by six seconds, into 7th and 8th positions, respectively.
Yuki Tsunoda, in his Alphatauri Honda, was next in ninth position, with Esteban Ocon, in the other Alpine Renault, scoring the last point in 10th place.
George Russell, in his Mercedes, did not finish, neither did Alexander Albon in his Williams Mercedes, but both of them had shown good potential earlier on in the race.
Max Verstappen also won the Sprint Race and continues to drive ‘out of his skin’, not giving anybody else a chance.
A long-faced Toto Wolff let us know that he is not happy with the Mercedes performance and thinks they will have to rely on their new car next year to make a game change.
