Search on for Ugu’s queen and king

Event organiser Nsikelelo Ntobela said they want to scout models across all four local municipalities (Umdoni, Umzumbe, Ray Nkonyeni and Umuziwabantu).

Are you into pageantry and want to be crowned the queen or king of the Ugu District? Then enter the search for the queen and king of Ugu.
The pageant is hosted by Caphuna Kusale Experience.

Event organiser Nsikelelo Ntobela said they want to scout models across all four local municipalities (Umdoni, Umzumbe, Ray Nkonyeni and Umuziwabantu), where they will mentor, develop, and groom both male and female models.

He said only 10 queen and king of Ugu hopefuls will be selected to represent their municipality, adding that there will only be 40 (20 females and 20 males) finalists for the main event.

“Contestants must be aged between 18 to 25 years. Men are strongly encouraged to enter the pageant. Winners will share a sum of R10 000 and various prizes. The nominees will be announced on December 21,” said Ntobela.
He added that the pageant promises to build the profile of those who have aspirations in modelling by giving them an opportunity.

“The event will not only give a platform to those in the modelling industry but also to the people in the entertainment sector such as local artists. Local businesses will have the opportunity to showcase their services during the pageant. Also, jobs will be created through the pageant,” he said, adding that they aim to make the pageant an annual event.
