Hosts of SA music awards hail from South Coast
The multi-talented Nomalanga 'The Flame' Shozi who is an actress, television and radio personality hosted the Samas with DJ Sabby 'The Best Thing Ever' Mtshali.
The 29th annual South African Music Awards (Samas) belonged to the South Coast and its hosts are evidence of that.
The awards which were held at the SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria were hosted by Boboyi’s very own Nomalanga Shozi, while Mthwalume’s Hope Mbhele was the red carpet host alongside Thuthuka Mthembu.

The prestigious event was broadcast live.
Excited about the opportunity Shozi said: “I hosted the Samas before the age of 30. I could never say God is not real. He is able.”
The former Marburg Secondary pupil said words fail her.
“I am reminded of 19-year-old me who was dreaming dreams bigger than my mind could ever fathom. I know she is proud and I know she loves me,” said Shozi.
Speaking about the hosts of the Samas, Nhlanhla Sibisi, CEO of the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA), said there was absolutely no doubt that they would provide the anticipated entertainment for the show.
“DJ Sabby and Nomalanga Shozi were a dynamic duo impeccably positioned to ignite Sama29. Their infectious energy, magnetic charisma, and profound connections within the South African entertainment landscape seamlessly align with the spirit of the Samas. Hope Mbhele and Thuthuka Mthembu embody our philosophy of giving young fresh practitioners a platform to showcase their excellence. Curated meticulously, we had no doubt that these four would elevate the Samas experience to unprecedented heights. It was an unforgettable night,“ said Sibisi.
Meanwhile, Shozi has landed roles in series such as Rhythm City, MTV Shuga’s Alone Together, and Roomies.
She has covered international events such as the 2018 BET Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas, she has also hosted the show called Behind the Story, and she has been a radio personality at Ugu Youth Radio and Gagasi FM.
Meanwhile, Mbhele has been on trending shows such as Shaka Ilembe and Umkhokha.
She has also hosted shows on radio stations such as Gagasi FM and Metro FM.
