Ugu participates in netball champs
The championships organised by the KZN Netball Federation are supported by the KZN Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture.
The Ugu District recently participated in the KZN Netball Provincial Championships held at the Chatsworth Sport Oval Netball Court.
The championships organised by the KZN Netball Federation are supported by the KZN Department of Sports, Arts and Culture.
During the games, each of the 11 districts in the province compete against each other. The districts are represented by both men’s and women’s teams.
Both the Ugu teams were knocked out during the fourth round of the championships.
In the finals (men’s division), eThekwini beat King Cetshwayo 28 – 22.
In the final of the women’s division, King Cetshwayo district knocked out eThekwini 25 – 20.
The championships also featured games between teams that lost.
In the ‘loser finals’, the women’s team from Zululand district beat Umgungundlovu district 28 – 22.
And in the men’s ‘losers finals, Umkhanyakude beat Umgungundlovu 24 -19.
