Ugu karateka head to nationals soon
The senior national tournament which represents U21, senior and veteran athletes will take place in Cape Town from March 1 to 3.

A group of elite karateka represented the Ugu region at the KZN Provincial Karate Championships held in Tongaat recently.
The Ugu chairperson, Shihan Coenie Vrey, said the team is made up of students from affiliated karate dojos in the area.
Vrey said they are proud of the record number of athletes who won medals and qualified to represent the region at the upcoming Karate South Africa (KSA) national tournaments.
He said the senior national tournament which represents U21, senior and veteran athletes will take place in Cape Town from March 1 to 3.
The junior national tournament of athletes up to 17 years of age will be held in Durban from April 4 to 7.
“We wish all our athletes everything of the best as they represent Ugu in both of these tournaments,” said Vrey.
