Splash time for swimmers

It was a sweltering hot day, perfect for swimming.

Blue Ocean Aquatics hosted a fantastic Splash Gala at Creston College last Saturday, with 147 swimmers entering the various races.
These ranged from six and under kickboard races, to the 12-year-old individual medley.
The weather was perfect and the pool invitingly crystal clear.
“The aim of this gala is to introduce children to competitive swimming in a fun and relaxed environment,” said BOA coach, Mandy Koegelenberg.
She thanked parents and officials who helped make the running of the event possible.
Izotsha Primary won the trophy for the school with the most entries. Margate Swimming Club won the trophy for the most club entries.
