Andile Phehlukwayo returns to Proteas

Dolphins all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo is returning to national cricket after bagging a contract with the Proteas for the 2024/25 season.
This was confirmed after Cricket South Africa (CSA) recently announced the Proteas’ contracted squad for the domestic season set to start on May 1.
CSA director Enoch Nkwe is pleased to announce the Proteas Men and Women’s contracted squads, saying that the player selection for both squads reflects their commitment to nurturing talent and rewarding exceptional performances.
Nkwe said Phehlukwayo has returned to the contracted squad while wicketkeeper-batsman Ryan Rickelton and spinner Bjorn Fortuin have been retained.
Phehlukwayo, a 28-year-old fast bowler is a former Margate Primary School learner.
Nkwe said their goal is to continue building strong and competitive teams that can consistently challenge on the global stage.
“With the addition of promising newcomers and the retention of experienced players, we believe we have assembled squads capable of achieving success in the upcoming season,” he said.
