Max proves mighty in Japan again
Fever Local News | It was an interesting race all-round.
Max Verstappen did it again at Suzuka in Japan, winning the Japanese Grand Prix from pole position and beating his teammate Sergio Perez to the chequered flag by 12.5 seconds.
Carlos Sainz drove a very good race in his Ferrari and really earned his podium spot by passing and beating his teammate Charles Leclerc, who was fourth.
Lando Norris was next up, in fifth spot, also giving us a very good display in his McLaren Mercedes, just 3.5 seconds behind Leclerc.
The old man of the race, Fernando Alonso, again beat a lot of the young ones by bringing his Aston Martin home 15 seconds behind Landon in sixth position.
Although this all seems a bit of a procession, there actually was a lot of hard fighting going on between all of these top-notch drivers.
George Russell finished just 1.5 seconds behind Alonso.
Oscar Piastri was another 1.5 seconds behind Russell, giving us extremely close racing for seventh and eighth places.
Lewis Hamilton was ninth, only a second behind Piastri.
In the final point-scoring position, after a great performance in front of his home crowd, was Yuki Tsunoda in tenth place.
We all hope that Carlos Sainz has made the right impressions to gain a good seat at either Red Bull next to Max, or Mercedes, where he will replace Hamilton who leaves for Ferrari at the end of the season.
The next race is in Shanghai, China in two weeks’ time, where we will have an interesting sprint race once again, to add to the flavour.
