Funds raised despite rainy night market

Fever Local News | A handful of marketers, mainly those selling fast foods, braved the weather and stayed on until the end of the project.

Rain spoilt things for the Port Shepstone Lions’ Night Market project a week ago, but not entirely.

Despite wet weather having the final say, the clubhouse remained open, and the Lions were still very well supported, which resulted in a substantial amount of money being raised for charity.

A handful of marketers, mainly those selling fast foods, braved the weather and stayed on until the end of the project.

Lions and Lion Ladies also continued to sell their delicious hamburgers, wors rolls and pancakes.

The next market will be held on Sunday, May 5, from 09:00 to 14:00.

This will be preceded by a Lions 5km run/walk, starting at 08:00. It will be held in conjunction with South Coast Striders.

The fun run starts and finishes at Port Shepstone Country Club and entrants will follow a course through Umtentweni.

At the Lion’s Night Market are (from left) Cyril Dupouy, Bev Rolfe and Denis Meyer.
