Work party blazes a trail in Sunwich Port
Some time was spent discussing the coastal admiralty and the integrity of dune scrub.
Few hands but passionate hearts made a work party a success in Sunwich Port last Saturday.
Dee Dickens of Rotary Port Shepstone said a group of seven elderly folks arrived to help, along with learners from Southcity Christian College.
And in no time, they widened the pathway, removed sharp branches hanging at head height, and re-routed the trail where a tree had fallen across it.
“We also picked up litter on the trail and the beach,” said Dickens.
Some time was spent discussing the coastal admiralty and the integrity of dune scrub.
“It was wonderful to find this ecozone in such good condition,” Dickens added.
Paddy Norman, a geologist from the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa, became quite animated while discussing the boulders/rocks on the beach.
