Ugu karate shine at provincial champs

The athletes have done well and have much to look forward to.

Ugu karateka from SKISA Port Shepstone and Suid Natal Martial Arts Academy, who are KSA-affiliated dojos in the region, recently took part in the KwaZulu-Natal provincial championships held in Durban.

A record number of medals were received by the local athletes, and the good news is that they have all qualified for the upcoming KSA national champs.

The senior national tournament, which comprises U21, senior, veteran and masters divisions, took place in Mpumalanga from February 22-23.

The junior national tournament, for children, cadets and junior athletes up to 17 years of age, will be held in Durban from March 7 to 9.
