Bodyboarders prepare for SA champs

The inclement weather could not dampen the bodyboarders’ enthusiasm.

BLOW Out Bodyboarding Club held their fourth contest for the year last Sunday. The conditions were not ideal as the swell was tiny and blown out by the wind, but this did not stop the bodyboarders.

There was some very competitive riding throughout the day and the Southern KwaZulu-Natal team was part of the event, doing their training for SA champs, which will be held in Mossel Bay from the September 22 to 27. The team is strong this year and should be able to bring the Fishman Trophy back home.

The results were as follows:

Pro: 1 Storm Prestwich; 2 Terence Pieters; 3 Rory Fellow-Smith; 4 Brendon van Rooyen.

Dropknee: 1 Terence Pieters; 2 Bradley Moys; 3 Dane Klusener; 4 Storm Prestwich.

Boys: 1 Luciano Ovidi; 2 Codi Hill; 3 Martin Grobler; 4 Rohan Nel.

Juniors: 1 Wesley Coetzee; 2 Michael Mynhardt; 3 Mickey Gomez; 4 Adriaan Duvenage.

Men: 1 Dane Klusener; 2 Morgan Phillips; 3 Ryan Steyn.

Development: 1 Bodene Swart; 2 Jeremy MacMillan.
