Squash players rewarded at season finale
The players let their hair down at the prize-giving dinner.
THE annual LSC Squash Association’s dinner and prize-giving took place at Blue Lagoon Restaurant in Ramsgate last Friday. For the past two decades, the event and prizes have been generously sponsored by Halfway Toyota and this year was no exception. Brian and Mark Jones were thanked for their dedication to the sport.

The sportsmanship award went to a deserving Steve Scholtz, while Bjorn Wikstrom was named the most promising player. Juanita Greyvenstein was named the most improved woman and the most improved man award went to Luke Jenkins.

The winners of the A league were Port Shepstone’s Cyal Eigenmann, Sivy Kalkapersad and his sons Prantosh and Sachin. The runners-up were Douglas Mitchell’s Andre Attfield, Steve Scholtz, Ian Ackerman and Steve Blakemore.

Port Shepstone also won the B league, represented by Paul Mundell, Peter Beckett, Brian Jones, Ian Smith and Rod Hackland. Runners-up were Douglas Mitchell’s Gary Bircher, Guy Spittal, Andrew Raphe, Dave Lewis and Gavin Smith.
