Silverware for lifesavers

The club has a new chairman.

MARGATE Saints Surf Lifesaving Club had a fantastic annual general meeting and prize-giving recently, with some 200 people attending. Peter Hartley was voted in as the new chairman. Sheldon Roux received the chairman’s award and Peter Hartley the president’s award.

The victor ludorum winners were Sbonelo Ncane (U11), Kai Hielckert (U12), Luke Cruden (U14), Luke Langberg (U15), Brandon McGarry (U17) and Derek Horlock (U19) while victrix ludorum winners were Tayla van Rooyen (U11) and Erica Hartley (U14). Lifesavers of the year were Siyabulela Mkhize (U15), Adrian Edwards (U17) and Sboniso Mkhize (U19).

The female lifesaver of the year was Robynne Theron, while Tayla van Rooyen was Nipper of the year. The clubman trophy went to Shelly Beach Lions and the club captain trophy to Vaughn Mocke.
