Dragsters rev it up

It’s safe to say that some of the province's quickest cars raced last Sunday.

AFTER weeks of tuning their vehicles, it was all systems go at the Drag and Track day at the Dezzi Raceway last Sunday.

Hosted by the South Coast Car Club, in association with the BMW Car Club, 80 enthusiasts from the South Coast and the rest of KwaZulu-Natal competed to claim top honours, pushing their vehicles to the limit.

Watching the cars race head-to-head at high speed gave the spectators an adrenaline rush, never mind the drivers.

South Coast Car Club chairman and event organiser Divesh Ramsunder said it had all gone off very well.

“Many of our drivers from the South Coast Car Club used the Dezzi Raceway for the very first time and loved it. The venue will now become very popular among competitors and spectators for future drag events,” he said. “We were very pleased with the turnout.”
