SOUTHERN KwaZulu-Natal chose six U11 players as part of an invitational team called the ‘Umgeni Mambas’, to take part in the Durban schools’ U11s cricket festival at Kearsney during the school holidays.
Ross Klusener, Tom Constable, Chase Britz, Benjamin Geoffreys, Chad Laycock and Antony Dunford won all their matches conclusively, as well as their pool, with Chad Laycock scoring the most runs of the tournament.
The Welkom tour was cancelled, but two U11 matches were played and won against Chatsworth Sporting. This weekend’s play will be Phoenix U11s at the country club from 10.30am, and Chatsworth at home on Sunday.
