You’re never too old for tennis

Tennis is a game that can be played for many years.

FORTUNATELY the rugby only started at 5pm last Saturday, so we had five courts going all afternoon and Heloise Cloete, Brett Kjonstad and Shauna Hudson were welcome visitors. George van der Merwe’s savoury platter was well-received and quickly devoured by all. Thanks, George.

Also, thanks to ‘AWB Farmer Giles’ aka Foxy Norton, for spraying around the courts and keeping the weeds under control. Precious tennis time was given up by Foxy and members are grateful for his commitment.

Parents are encouraged to contact Jimmy Parsons at 082 4116904 for coaching lessons for their ‘young uns’. Remember, tennis is a game that can be played for many years of a lifetime. In fact, our oldest playing member is already an octogenarian and there are several very active members in their seventies. So let’s get those kids on the court and out in the fresh air.

Pam Grobler has been laid low with flu and Geraldine Lange has broken her ankle. Members wish them both a speedy recovery so that they can get back onto the courts soon.

Saturday duty: Elena Whateley – 12 October, Mary Wood – October 19
