SANDY Davis, Anne Knight, Annette Sutherland and Barbara Lombard from AMBC won last Thursday’s South Coast Herald women’s fours competition. Daphne Sapsford, Barbara Gradwell, Marie Coetzer and Mada Lindeque from The Bell/PSCC were runners-up and Irene Harris won the 50/50.

BEP Gouweloos, Spike Maritz, Mike Davies and Sandy Shepherd won the Schooners Restaurant 3-2-1 scoring competition from second placed John Payn, Molly Williams, Tony Aveyard and Dot Maritz.
Isobel Kilian and Dumisani Madlala won the Harbour View SuperSpar mixed 2-4-2 with a score of 4+24 from runners-up Louis Marx and Daphne Hounsell on 4+14. George Pick and Isabel Prenger won the session prize with a score of 2+6.
The next event will be the J Cee Sounds mixed 2-4-2 on Monday, November 11 followed by the John Dory’s mixed fours on Friday 15th

THE Warwick Wealth Management Invitational Open fours held last Wednesday was won by Esta Wenzel, Yvonne van Mentz, Eula Greer and Brenda Smith (reserve Vicki de Beer) on 8+11. Bill Brown, Rassie Erasmus, Barry Herbert and Chris Abram were runners-up on 6 +1 followed by Athol Robertson, Dieter Scholtz, John Richards and Keith Roach with Barbara Brook, Gae Gravell, Jill Brent and Natalie Herbert in fourth place.
The winners of the plate prizes were Jokkie and Marianne van Buuren with Arthur Ronaldson and Leonie Booth. Duncan Randall’s team won the second plate prize, Dieter Scholtz won the Scottish Leader whisky draw and the lucky draw team was Kobie Stander’s team.
The sad news of the day however was that Sandra Singleton who played in Brian Rawlin’s team died that night. She will be very much missed by all her bowling friends.
Kobie Stander, Eula Greer and Winnie Hess won The Hair Shoppe, Uvongo, women’s fours on 20+14. Sandra Singleton would have played in this team. The runners-up on 19+17 were Esta Wenzel, Dora Vosloo, Jean Marnevick and Helen Proctor. Dirkie Pretorious won the 50/50 prize.
RIVERSIDE
THE Halloween dinner dance was a great success thanks to all who helped. The 50/50 board was won by Ann Osbourn but the accumulator prize will be carried over to the next social evening.
The next sponsored competitions will be Cupboard Value open trips on Wednesday, November 13 and Airprof Engineering men’s trips on Wednesday, November 20.
Members are requested to note that the prize-giving will take place on Saturday, November 16 after tabs, followed by a bring and braai.

The winners of last Saturday’s Fruit and Veg City mixed trips were Rosemary Esterhuysen, Ken Hills and Aubrey Watson followed by Basil Redshaw, Charlotte van Niekerk and Kathy Hall on a countout from Henry Fick, Nelia Reed and Chris Allen. The lucky draw prizes went to Hugh Holland, Nelia Reed and Hilary Fick.

The competition against the golfers sponsored by Warwick Private Wealth this Sunday, November 10, promises to be quite an event. The competition will be rounded off with a bring and braai. To assist with catering, the women asked to bring a salad.

Another highlight in November is the Umtamvuna River Cruise on Monday, 25th. Everyone is to meet (booking essential) at the Port Edward Bowling Club at 9.30am. Taxis have been arranged to transport everyone to the river to cruise upriver on the Spellbound Gambler

BRIAN and Pam Cole-Cook won the GP Security mixed pairs played on Friday November 1. Graham and Anjie Gold were runners-up and the second session went to Steve and Jenny Rennie. The 50/50 board was won by Steve Rennie.
The Tops Port Edward men’s pairs played on Sunday, November 3 was won by Brian Cole-Cook and Mike Williams, with runners-up Bob Francis and Aubrey Hood. Second session went to Chris Forward and Ray Elders and the 50/50 board to Ally Weir.
A reminder of the president’s day on Saturday, November 9. The next sponsored competitions are the Chill Grill mixed trips on Wednesday,. November 13 with catering by Steve Rennie, and The Webb Restaurant women’s pairs on Friday, November 15 with catering by Julia Keppler and Jaye Russell.
The club’s AGM takes place on Monday, November 25 at 10am at The Breezeway. Members are urged to make every effort to attend. Nomination forms for next year’s committee are on the notice board.
