MUNSTER
TUESDAY, Thursday and Saturday tabs in games starting at 1.30pm are in full swing and visitors can be assured of a warm welcome.
The club’s annual Christmas dinner is scheduled for Friday, November 29 at R70 per person. Booking is essential.
The 7th Heaven Restaurant men’s pairs played on Friday, November 15, restricted to one session due to rain was won by Aubrey Hood and Glenn Allen. Barry Payn and Leigh Warner were second followed by Jokkie van Buuren and Derrick Banks. The board was won by Dan Delaney.
Gael Botes is wished a happy birthday for November 23.

RIVERSIDE
TREVOR Heywood, Bets Wood and Yvonne James with 4+17 were the winners of Cupboard Value open trips. Runners-up were Trevor Anderson, Heather Flyng and Ann Bailey with 4+5 and session winners were Vi Eltis, Ann Gibson and Marilyn Francis with 2+6.
Good bowling is wished to the Riverside team playing in the KBA mixed drawn fours this weekend.
The next sponsored competition will be Fruit and Veg City mixed 2-4-2 on Friday, November 29.
The club’s annual Christmas lunch and concert will take place on Sunday, December 8 at 12.30 for 1pm. The cost will be R75 per person.
At the social evening the lucky winner of the 50/50 board and the accumulator prize was Eileen van der Nest.

HIBBERDENE
THE official opening of the green following the annual maintenance will be tomorrow, Friday, November 22 at 1.45 for 2pm. The drawn competition will be followed by a lamb on the spit and salads costing R20 per head.
Diaries are now available for the coming season at R17 each.
The club will be hosting its Christmas dinner on Friday, December 6 at 5.30 for 6pm. Tickets cost R75.
At the last committee meeting it was suggested that social bowls on Sunday morning, starting later than usual and playing 10 to 15 ends followed by a bring and braai be introduced. Members are asked to give the suggestion some thought and advise a member of the committee how they feel about the idea.
PORT EDWARD
THE green reopened on November 13, with the first of the season’s competitions, the Wally Brass Friendship Cup being played. The trophy was won by Yvonne Fillis, Russ Hankey and Anne Wells. Gino Alilovic, Elbe Snyman, Estelle Carter and Frank Foley were second.
The mixed triples competition sponsored by Dr Theunis Potgieter, played on November 14 was won by Dave Banks, Pam Gilson and Leoni Booth. Aubrey Hood, Amorie Schoeler and Ally Weir were runners-up and the session went to Derrick Ott, Nova Allen and Rob Lyle.
Duties for the week November 25 to November 30. Bar – Mike Carter. Tabs – Yvonne Fillis. Tea – Anne Wells. Eats (November 26) – Leoni Booth and Gawie Bosman. (November 29) – Denise Brass.
BANNERS REST
DAVE Hume, Baba du Plessis and Ally Weir won the Chill Grill mixed trips played on Wednesday November 13. Chris Forward with Brian and Pam Cole-Cook were runners-up and the second session went to Aubrey and Penny Hood with Sergio Ruperto. The 50/50 board was won by Barry Payn.
The Webb Restaurant women’s pairs played on Friday, November 15 was won by Pat Miller and Estelle Carter. Runners-up were Maureen La Grange and Amorie Schoëler followed by Baba du Plessis and Leoni Booth. The 50/50 board went to Rina Fourie.
The final sponsored tournament of the year is the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs on Sunday, December 1 with thanks to Sheila Hankey and Nova Allen for catering. The green will be closed for maintenance from December 2 and reopen mid to end of January 2014.

PORT SHEPSTONE
EDDIE Fann played in the SA senior’s team in a test match against Namibia and is congratulated for his efforts and the team winning 22-10.
Members are asked to diarise Sunday, December 8 and Monday, December 16 for two very different fun bowls days.

VILLAGE
BILL Brown, Barry Herbert and Chris Abrams won the Hibiscus Retirement Villages’ men’s trips followed by Rennie Geyer, Ron Canning and Eric Chamier. Sessions were won by Barry Fowler, Martiens Olivier and Bill Eccles and by Henry Fick, Basil Redshaw and Doug Kent. Hans Wijtman went home with the whisky.
The winners of the Hibiscus Insurance Brokers’ mixed trips were Dave Garland, Reg Sanders and Dawn Ingle followed by Ina Malan, Dirkie Pretorius and Carl Volker. Sessions went to Rosemary Esterhuysen, Hans Herrmann and Chris Haslam and to Rassie Erasmus, Gary Hess and Dawn Oehley. Ina also won the 50/50.
The last competitions for this year are Hopden’s Kwikspar women’s 2-4-2 on Monday 25th and Execudec mixed 2-4-2 on Tuesday, November 26. If you wish to enter either of these competitions contact Hazel at 039 3125277.
The in house tabs in Hyundai mixed trips will now be played this coming Saturday, November 23.
Members are reminded that the Hibiscus Choir will be performing at the club this Friday (22nd) and that the next bring and braai will be the following Friday, November 29.
NOMADS LSC
AUSTEN Knollys, Ann Waugh and Dave Slippers won the Nomads Cavaliers Lower South Coast day sponsored by Orange River Wine Cellars and Black and White Whisky held at the Village of Happiness on Sunday, November 17. Tony Bailey, Vicki de Beer and Leza Edwards were runners-up followed by Annette Payne, Bruce Coldwells, Corrie Malan and Marie Pick. The sportsman prize went to Ina Malan, George Pick and Marie Rogers. Bruce Coldwells won the nearest the jack competition and John Louch went home with the Black and White Whisky.
This was the last outing for the year. Nomads bowlers and their families are wished a very merry Christmas and all the very best for the year ahead.
Members are advised that the first venue of the new year will be at Margate BC on Sunday, January 9 at 8.30 for 9am. Should there be any changes, members will be notified in good time.
THE BELL
LOUW Vermeulen, Brian Rawlins and Kevin Mullen won the Venture Inn/Jaxx Restaurant men’s trips. Gerry Cox, Geoff Barbour and Tabie Jonker were runners-up and the session prize went to Renzo van Niekerk, Hew Hodgson and Martin Frizelle.
The second round of the club’s mixed fours will be played this Sunday, November 24 at 9am.

MARGATE CC
ELLEN Cawker, Pam Cole-Cook and Vi Pells won the Hopden’s Kwikspar women’s trips on 4+13 from runners-up, Ina Malan, Norma Louw and Dirkie Pretorious on 4+10. The session prize winners on only 2+1 were Gae Gravelle, Eileen Lloyd and Jill Brent. Ellen Cawker also won the 50/50 draw.
The Shelly Beach SuperSpar mixed trips will be held on Tuesday, November 26 as per the 2012/13 diary, and not as published in the new 2013/14 diary.
Also there won’t be the traditional Boere en Soutjies bowls competition due to the KBA mixed fours taking place but there will be normal tabs this Saturday.
Also it’s not too late to put your name down for the Christmas lunch on December 7.
SOUTHPORT
MARIE Coetzer, Barbara Gradwell and Mada Lindeque won the Apex Electrical/Harbour View SuperSpar women’s trips played on November 12. Denise Nel, Sandy Shepherd and Kitty Cochman were runners-up followed by Sharolyn Dacey, Ethne Holding and Julie Cornwell. The session prize went to Maureen Muller, Charmaine Vermeulen and Michelle Vermeulen and the 50/50 was won by Jane Massam.
The South Coast Herald mixed 2-4-2 played on November 14 was won by Keith Mills and Hester Hankey. Val Bedecker and Bob Moroney were runners-up and the session prize went to Tom Semple and Barbara Sates. Annette won the 50/50.
Dr Daryl D’Arcy men’s trips will be played this afternoon and the Southport Service Station mixed trips will now be played on Sunday, December 1 not Sunday, November 24. Skips are asked to please note the date change.
SOUTHBROOM
THANKS to Beryl Lakin who quizzed some general knowledge boffins in aid of the Lower South Coast SPCA last Friday evening. All entry fees were donated to this most worthy organisation.

There will be a development fun day on Friday, November 29. All welcome, bring your friends and family for a fun morning of bowls with a bring and braai afterwards.
All new bowlers are welcome to join in the mufti bowls on Sunday mornings.
The next quiz evening will be held in the clubhouse this Wednesday, 27th. Even if you are not a member, come along and enjoy an evening of fun.
