Souties are victorious at Margate

THE women’s individual Stableford competition played on Tuesday, November 19 sponsored by Margate Pro Shop was won by Lesley Erasmus on 34 points followed by Hilary Hendry (33 points), Lexley Lewis (32 points) and Joan Minnaar (31 points).
The Wobblers three ball alliance played on Wednesday, November 20 was won by Jim Finn, Fred Boshoff and Fred Harrison on 84 points. Louie Kuhn, Rod O’Farrell and Frank Stephens were second on 83 points followed by Frank Merrill, Hans Beilhartz and Robert Henning on 82. The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Peter Bellew, John Barker, and Ken Norval on a score of 72.
The individual Stableford competition on Thursday, November 21 was won by Neil Townsend on 41 points, oco from Heber de Beer. Graham Scowby was third on 38 points oco from Deon Meyer. Nearest the pin at the 16th sponsored by Hibiscus Retirement Villages was won by Alan Davies.
The annual clash between the Boertjies and Souties took place last Saturday. Victory went the way of the Souties on 1 130 points, 25 more than the opposition.
The betterball competition was won by Ken Ashington and Dawie de Villiers on 50 points. Allan Halvorsen and Doug Johnston were second on 48, followed by Johan Erasmus and Marius Visser on 47 oco from Flip Fourie and W Kruger, Congratulations to Graham Scowby for acing the fourth.
Best dressed awards went to Boertjies Joan Minnaar and Pops Harrison and Souties Maureen Ogilvie and John Webster.
