Round robin tennis win for Keegan and Elena
Delicious eats were the order of the day.
THE Christmas round robin at Umtentweni Tennis Club was played two weeks ago and won by Elena Whateley and Keegan van der Merwe. Runners-up were Isabeau le Roux, Trish Wood and Mervyn Tarboton.
Well done, all of you, and thanks to Trish for organising the tournament. Lynne Rorich provided delicious eats for tea and members enjoyed a bring and braai afterwards.
Thanks to Riaan le Roux for his effort in keeping the fires burning in the rain. Thanks also to all who provided tasty salads and breads.
It was wonderful to have several visitors at the club last Saturday and they all provided good, strong tennis. Locals Keegan van der Merwe and Tosh Roos were amongst them.
Perfect weather prevailed and it was great to be able to know exactly where the ball was going to land instead of it being blown all over the court.
It is hoped that the visitors will come again soon. Jill Badenhorst is thanked for providing the eats for tea and arranging the sets.
Mary Wood celebrates her birthday on the 14th and Chloe Dutton on the 23rd. Members wish them both a super day and lots of smashing tennis in the coming year.
Visitors are most welcome to join members for social tennis on Wednesdays and Saturdays from about 1.45pm onwards.
