HIBISCUS Kennel Club wishes all its members and the community of the South Coast a wonderful and prosperous 2014. To those who have not yet returned to the club for whatever reason, the club misses you and looks forward to your return.
The year has started well and all newcomers are welcomed. Puppies as well as mature dogs are settling into the routine.
Last Saturday was cool and raining, which some of the dogs did not enjoy. Chipmunk, the tiniest member, preferred to stay in the tunnel and keep dry, Gunner, the Jack Russell, was not too keen on getting his paws wet and even Jodie, the border collie, was prepared to work as long as she didn’t get her belly wet.
Unfortunately, apart from Gaby Frey, none of the agility members was available to enter the first show at Scottburgh. Gaby and Scooby did very well achieving first place in contact and non-contact grade 3 with the fastest time overall and KT was first in non-contact grade 2. Gaby is wished well as she now starts to prepare for South African champs and Agility World Cup later in the year.
A reminder to all that starting times on Saturday are as follows: Beginners agility and orientation class 3pm; obedience 4pm; advanced agility 5pm. Another fun day is planned for February, so get your running shoes ready.
For more information phone Gaby at 083 4416929 or Sharon at 073 6014622. Members who train agility during the week are asked to contact Jenny at 083 2504253.
