School volleyball starts soon
The tournament will cater for both primary and high/secondary schools.
THE Marburg Volleyball Arena will be buzzing with activity when the season opening schools volleyball knockout tournament, hosted by the schools’ volleyball committee and Port Shepstone Volleyball Association, starts on March 8.
Since the tournament is pre-entry with the fixtures worked out a week before the event, the deadline for the submission of all tournament entries is Monday, March 3 at 2pm. Entries can be faxed to Jai Hind Primary at 039 6820861 or 039 6857477 or to 086 5611040.
No late entries will be accepted once all tournament fixtures are drawn up. With the entry fee at R80 per team, schools can enter as many teams as they wish provided they conform to the divisions and the qualifying year of
birth. It is the responsibility of the schools to submit entries in time.
As this is a closed tournament, sanctioned by the Schools’ Volleyball Committee and the Port Shepstone Volleyball Association, schools taking part must abide by the stringent tournament rules and regulations.
To avoid disqualification, and possible suspension and expulsion of teams, schools must abide strictly with the age and date of birth stipulations. As proof of age, schools are expected to submit copies of identity documents of each player. The tournament will cater for both primary and high/secondary schools.
In the primary school section, the U12 and U14 boys and girls will be catered for, while in the high school section, U16 and open divisions will be catered for.
