Tweni Tennis Club’s injury list grows

THERE are several ‘wounded soldiers’ amongst Tweni Tennis Club members at the moment. All are really sorry to hear about Foxy Norton’s unfortunate motorcycle incident (which required two hours of stitching) and wish him a speedy recovery from his injuries.

Another motorcycle victim is Jésus Rodriguez, who will also be out of the tennis circuit for a while. They join Neil Rheeder and Jill Badenhorst and all are wished complete healing to enable them to be active on the courts once again.

Keith Gatley was a welcome visitor last week and visitors are reminded that the club would love to have them join in on social Wednesday and Saturday afternoons from 2pm onwards. Mary Wood’s usual unique ‘sarmies’, supplemented with other eats were enjoyed by all.

Members are reminded to attend the special general meeting on April 26 at 4.30pm, as well as to pay subs for 2014 if not already done. Please get them to Isabeau le Roux as soon as possible because they are now very much overdue.

Safe travelling wishes go to Mervyn Tarboton and Gloria for their trip to East London for the dedication of their great-grandson; Pam Grobler, travelling to Morgan’s Bay for a few days; as well as Lynne Rorich, who will be in Cape Town for a while. Hurry back!

Birthday wishes go to Val Beckett (22nd) and Chris Nadauld (24th). Members wish them a very happy day and lots of enjoyable tennis throughout the year.
