Hockey women finish with a flourish
The club will round off the season with a dinner this Saturday.
THE Port Shepstone Hockey Club women played their last match of the season last Saturday afternoon, taking on Munies/Collegians 4.
Sheppie dominated play for the first 15 minutes.
Munies tried to relieve the pressure by using river balls when they did win free hits but with Sheppie pressing, they were ineffective.
Elisa Rinaldi scored Sheppie’s first goal about five minutes before half-time.
The score at half-time was 1-0.
The team was ‘amped’ going back on the park after half-time.
There were lots of shots at goal and the ball eventually found the back of the net with a whacker of a shot by Elisa. The final score was 2-0, a great way to end the season.
The end-of-year dinner will take place at Craig and Lana Rhodes’s home in Shelly Beach this Saturday, September 27 at 6.30pm.
