Renovations completed at Uvongo Tennis Club
Members are encouraged to take the leap and enter the Veterans’ Tournament.
WITH only the gas installations to be done, Uvongo Tennis Club members are thrilled with the results of the renovations. The Veterans’ Tennis Tournament is only three weeks away and for those who are unsure whether to enter or not, this is a reminder that time is running out and entries close tomorrow (3rd). Take the leap and enter! This promises to be an entertaining weekend with great tennis and an opportunity to make new friends.
Tuesday and Thursday players have been making the most of the perfect weather the South Coast has been experiencing, with an average of 18 members playing. Unfortunately the Monday, Wednesday and Friday players seem to have lost interest and players are encouraged to return and make the most of the ideal playing conditions before the windy season arrives.
Dave Snashall, Lorna Taylor and Gerard Creamer are on the ‘unable to play’ list at present and are wished a quick recovery. The club extends a warm welcome to new members James Carlsen, David Boswell and Dan Dimitriu. July birthday wishes go to Ali Majova, Val Bouwer, Truna Burgers, Trien Viljoen and Ruth Webster.
Members thank Raymond Burger for the tasty eats he provided last Saturday, with a big thank you to his wife, Michelle, who apparently did all the cooking. Duties: Ralph Burls (3rd); Sonja Watt (6th); Erika and Burt Albracht (8th) – Come on Burt, it’s time you returned to play!
