Tennis players run off Christmas dinner – and enjoy some chili bites
Some upcountry visitors joined the local players.
ONLY eight players needed to run off their Christmas dinner at Umtentweni Tennis Club last Saturday and enjoyed several sets with visitors, Matthew and Cyril Gillmer, and, later in the afternoon, Rod Hackland.
Raj Naganna’s (or are they Pam’s?) delicious chilli bites were a great hit with our upcountry visitors as were the egg sarmies he brought along as well.
Visitors are reminded again that social days are Wednesday and Saturday afternoons from 2pm and all are most welcome to come along for a game or two. Wind isn’t a factor on the courts like it is on the beach!
Tweni members wish all South Coast and upcountry tennis players a happy and prosperous new year with many smashing hours on the court.
To the staff of the South Coast Herald, we say happy new year and a great big thank you for all the coverage during 2015. The club wishes you all another successful year as far as scooping the Caxton awards is concerned.
Birthdays this week are: Jean Marx and Keagan van der Merwe on the 3rd; Rob Browne on the 5th and Elena Whateley on the 6th. Many happy returns to all of you and have a lot of happy hours on the courts in 2016.
