WELL done to the winners of the 19th Hole mixed trips, namely Peter Bennett, Val Smith and Robbie Wiegard.

Runners-up were Dave Hume, Vi Pells and Ally Weir. Second session went to Rob Lyle, Pat Brand and Roger Humphry and the 50/50 board to Dice Graaff.

GP Security mixed pairs is on Friday, August 4. The Tops Port Edward men’s pairs has been moved from August 6 to August 13.

HIBBERDENE

WINNERS of the Suzuki South Coast drawn trips played last Friday were Arthur Seager, Dennis Lewis and Glenda Verster.

Second were Roger Burwood, Bubbles Bezuidenhout and Napier Verster. Session prize was won by Gloria Gerrard, Ryno van der Berg, Hana Svoboda and Estelle Quinn.

Blue Waters and Cutting Edge mixed trips is this Friday (28th).

MARGATE BC

SOCIAL bowls is played every Sunday morning at 9am. Dress is casual, bowls and assistance provided.

Winners of the Mugg & Bean vouchers for the club tabs competitions this week were Gordon Ogilvie, Neville Philpott and Henry Jacobs last Tuesday, and Thiens Zietsman, Yvonne Bausek, Neville Philpott and Jeanne Gregori last Thursday.

The Great Gibbons team, which shared first place at the Port Shepstone Business Day Bowls Challenge sponsored by KuluCrete, comprises (from left) Tammy Gibbons, Trevor Main and Artur Lopes.

The Spur women’s 2-bowl trips played last Friday was won by Pam Cole-Cook, Vi Pells and Leoni Booth.

Runners-up were Annette Payne, Chrissie Chancellor and Dina van der Walt. 50/50 won by Marianne v Buuren. Duty: office – Johnny Louch; tea – Pam Cole-Cook/Vi Pells.

MARGATE CC

THE Engel & Volkers men’s league was won this month on a shot countout by Graham Fisher, Neels Boshoff, Hein Bester and Brent Addison.

Runners-up were Graham Gold, Mike Prinsloo, Clive Edmundson and Peter McCarthy. Mike Mordant won the 50/50.

The Food Lover’s Market trips was won by Dora Vosloo, Jo Olivier and Johan Cooper.

Runners-up were Graham Gold, Malcolm Taylor and Hans van der Walt. Third went to Peter Griffiths, Dennis Rehbock, Joan Fowler and Marie Rogers.

Congratulations to Martiens Olivier for achieving bronze in the KBA senior singles.

The JL Panelbeaters Novice Invitation Pairs is this weekend.

MUNSTER

MARINERS Restaurant open trips winners were Hedley Meek, Val Smith and Tricia Tait.

Runners-up were Mike Gower, Jeanette Offer and Derek Wicks.

Second session to Piet Heunis, Rina Fourie and Anthony Card. Board to Tienie Prinsloo.

Cow Shed/Tops men’s pairs winners were Tommie Dry and Rory Lawson.

Runners-up were Aubrey Hood and Steve Rennie. Second session to Piet Heunis and Rob Lyle. Board to Leigh Warner.

THE Dr Darryl D’Arcy sponsored men’s trips was won by Brian Pirrie, Eddie Milne and Riaan van der Berg, from Jan Bouwer, Jack van der Berg and Hennie Greyling.

Second session went to Alan Jackson, Duncan Randall and Hew Hodgson.

Harbour View SuperSpar women’s trips today (27th). Southport Service Station sponsored mixed trips will be played this Sunday (30th).

THE BELL

BEZ and Bubbles Bezuidenhout won the Fruit & Veg City sponsored 2-4-2 last week, from Trevor Main and Susan Delpech. Session prize went to Peet and Susan van Rooyen.

Braai after bowls this Sunday (30th). Orca mixed trips will be played this Friday (28th). Club AGM will be held on September 2.

‘A Day at the Races’ will be next Saturday (5th). Entrance is R20 per person. Lots of prizes. Please dress up accordingly but wear flat shoes or go barefoot.

Everyone welcome even if you have never held a bowl in your hand before. Contact Sharolyn at 082 6824855 to take part in this fun day.

VILLAGE

CLUB championship winners were Gary Hess, who narrowly beat Dereck Schorn, and Hazel Hosken who pipped Dawn Oehley.

Hibiscus Retirement Villages men’s trips is next Tuesday (1st).

In the pairs, Ina Malan and Nelia Reed beat Marie Momple and Rosalie Bloom on an extra end.

The Food Lover’s Market drawn mixed trips will be played this Saturday (5th) at 1.15pm.

RAC draw and bring and braai will be next Friday (4th).
