Despite the fact that rain was predicted last Saturday, it didn’t come in time to spoil a great afternoon of tennis.

Four courts were busy but, unfortunately, Dion Voster pulled a hamstring and had to stop playing. Members wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the courts soon.

Another superb baker has emerged in the form of Jenny Connellan. Chris brought along a wonderful array of home-made goodies for tea – cake, cheese scones, chocolate crunchies, jam tarts and sarmies satisfied the inner man.

Advance notification to all members is that the Ugu Junior Tennis Tournament will be held from April 19-21.

Please see where you can become involved and help the club to stand out during this time. More information will follow nearer the time.

Everything of the best to Chris Connellan as he goes into the ‘sizzling 70s’ when he celebrates his birthday on the 27th.

Just don’t think about slowing down on the court, Chris – you put many of us to shame with your exuberance.

Saturday duty: January 26 – Keith Gatley; February 2 – George van der Merwe.
