Ugu Karate prepares for new season

Dojos need to register with the organisation to be recognised by Sascoc for national colors and participation in international events.

Members of Ugu Karate recently attended the technical congress for KwaZulu-Natal Karate which was held in Durban.

The purpose of the meeting was for accreditation to be given to different regions and dojos elected for regional, provincial and national events to be held in 2019.

This included referees, officials and managers. A number of new World Karate Federation (WKF) rules were also discussed at this very informative meeting.

During the meeting, it was reiterated that Karate South Africa is the only organisation recognised by the WKF in South Africa.

Dojos needed to register with the organisation in order to be recognised by Sascoc for national colors and participation in international events.

“It was an extremely informative meeting and I am excited for karate in the Ugu region for the year ahead,” said Ugu Karate chairman Coenie Vrey.
