Two titles for ‘Smurf’
It was a three-competition series - two events were held last year and the third and final one in Ballito last Saturday.
MAYAH Potgieter of Ramsgate is a dual winner in the North Coast Board Riders Grom Series which wrapped up recently.
‘Smurf’ as she is fondly known, is making superb progress as a surfer, punching well above her weight at the moment.

It was a three-competition series – two events were held last year and the third and final one in Ballito last Saturday.
Mayah ended up winning the girls U12 comprehensively and hanging on to bag the U16 girls title as well.
Each event stood alone but points could also be accumulated towards winning the series, so consistency was also important.
Mayah dominated the U12s, taking the win in all three which gave her the series win in a cleansweep.
In the U16s she had a solid second place last Saturday which helped her secure the U16 series win.
