From the bowling greens: Victory for Gail and Wayne

KINGFISHER BA

The 2019 Kingfisher Bowling Asscoaition mixed pairs tournament was played last weekend.

The semi-finals and finals took place at Hibberdene Bowling Club.

Gail van Nikkelen-Kuyper and her son Wayne, from Hibberdene BC, took top honours with Terrance McGlynn and Beth Trusler from Riverside in second place.

Joint third were Brian and Jenny Rawlins (Port Shepstone Country Club) and Tony Waters and Helen Proctor (Southbroom BC).

BANNERS REST

Winners of the GP Security mixed pairs were Brian Cole-Cook and Janet Venter, with runners-up Rod and Mary Phelps.

Second session went to Gino Alilovic and Amelia Pieterse, and the 50/50 board to Pam Cole-Cook.

The Tiago’s 2-4-2 mixed pairs was won by Dave Hume and Vi Pells, with runners-up Rob and Pat Lyle.

Second session was won by Steve Rennie and Janet Venter, and the 50/50 board by Pam Cole-Cook.

Next sponsored competition is the Tops Port Edward men’s pairs this Sunday (3rd).

MARGATE BC

No tabs competitions played last week due to rain.

Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach men’s 2-4-2 is today (31st) at 1.30pm.

KZN Quadrangular is this weekend (2nd and 3rd) so no regular tabs.

Duties: office – Gerry Davey; tea – Merle Davies and Violine Prinsloo.

Social bowls every Sunday at 9am. Dress casual, bowls and assistance provided.

Saturday morning coaching is available for members by appointment, phone 039 3120351.

MARGATE CC

Chicken and Egg day competition winners, sponsored by Food Lover’s Market, were Anji Gold, Eileen Lloyd and Norman Bridger.

Runners-up were Graham Gold, Johan Gerber and Jo Olivier.

Third prize went to Dora Vosloo, Mike Prinsloo and Johan Cooper. Fourth place went to Martiens Olivier, Billy Eccles and Marie Rogers.

MUNSTER

Despite the weather, a fun filled afternoon was had by all at the Highland Fling mixed trips sponsored by Riddell Weir and held on Burns Night Friday (25th).

Winners were Cliff Moakes, Sergio Ruperto and Jenny Gillham, from Danie van der Post, Rick Harding and Peter Stoll.

Third place went to Albert van der Lith, Pat Ruperto and Derek Purcell.

Quiz winners were Cliff Moakes, Barbara and Mike Corbett, Jean and Phil Longden and Derek Purcell.

Hibiscus Brokers mixed trips takes place today (31st).

Tea duty – Shirley Jeffery, Marie Pretorius and Beryl Laurent.

PORT EDWARD

Winners of the Good Water Shop and Carbath mixed pairs were John Keppler and Elbe Snyman from Rod and Mary Phelps.

Second session went to Rob And Pat Brand Lyle.

Social tabs in bowls as usual on Saturday and Wednesday at 1.30pm.

Visitors welcome as with Sundowners at 4pm on Friday afternoons.

RIVERSIDE

Well done to Maureen Muller and Rodney Winnan, winners of the Food Lover’s 2-4-2 last week.

They were followed by Sharon and Hermann Scheinberg.

First session went to Brian Douthwaite and Olwen Gibbs; second session to Graham and Anjie Gold.

Next sponsored competition is the Cupboard Value open pairs on Sunday, February 17. Full day, cash prizes to be won.

SOUTHBROOM

Harbour View SuperSpar trips winners were Desiree Krause, A Reader and Dee Marsh.

Runners-up were Tammy Gibbons, Daphne Hounsell and Pat Mags.

The Dr D D’Arcy mixed trips was won by Tommy Leek, Frik Janse van Rensburg and Trudy Rush.

Runners-up were Vic Holder, Don and Shirley Russouw.

Session prize went to Geoff Kelleher, Jane Massan and Bob Hicks.

Winners of the 2-4-2 Food Lover’s Market were Richard and Kitty Cochman. Runners-up were Keith Mills and Nellie Davies.

Session prize was won by Frik Janse van Rensburg and Stippie Scholtz.

THE BELL

Orca’s Beach Bar & Grill trips winners were Luke Pohl, Johannie Theron and Ryan Keys.

Runners-up were Stan Penny, Barbara Gradwell and Natalie Long.

Session prize went to Peet and Susan van Rooyen, with Kevin Mullen.

Winners of the Bell men’s drawn fours were Luke Pohl, Claude Ching, Tony Aveyard and David Nicholas.

TWENI

The Razzel’s fours was won by Tony Korb, Astrid Jackson, Nellie Davies and Julie Ross from runners-up Keith Mills, Tammy Gibbons, Frik Janse van Rensburg and Pat Bird.

The session prize went to Dennis Graham, Pat Maggs, Jenny Graham and Dee Marsh.

VILLAGE

Hopden Kwikspar mixed 2-4-2 winners were Roy Robertson and Annette Payne.

Runners-up were Olwen Gibbs and Bill Eccles.

Session winners were Gerhard Waldeck and Edith Button, as well as Madge and Harry Nicolson.
