Nanda Memorial Cup volleyball tournament set to serve up fun

The tournament will be held next Saturday.

Port Shepstone’s largest volleyball tournament, the Nanda Moodley Memorial Cup officially kicks off the 2019 season. The tournament will be held at the Marburg Sports Complex next Saturday, February 23 at 1pm.

The event in memory of businessman and philanthropist, Nanda Moodley is being jointly hosted by Malanie Moodley and the Port Shepstone Volleyball Association. The tournament which is in its second year is open to all local players, social teams, business houses, religious organisations, teachers, families and volleyball enthusiasts.

Entry fee is R200 per team, with registration from 1pm on the day of the tournament. Last years’ tournament was an enormous success and this year, tournament hosts promise an even bigger event with plenty of prizes to be won.

The day-night tournament played under floodlights is expected to draw families and social volleyball enthusiasts who can take part in a day of volleyball fun. Braais and gazebos are welcome to be set up on the open grass fields outside the main courts. For further information, contact tournament director, Jason Govender at 084 250 8875.
