Volleyball cup draws a crowd
The tournament, proved a huge success, with a record number of teams entering.
Volleyball enthusiasts turned out in their numbers in support of the Nanda Moodley Memorial Volleyball Cup held at the Marburg Volleyball Complex last Saturday. The tournament, proved a huge success, with a record number of teams entering.

Excitement and enthusiasm were high among the volleyballers with the courts jam-packed. Players and supporters enjoyed a day of thrilling action. The two main sections of the tournament were the premier and social divisions. The popular social division drew a huge crowd, as some of the legends of yesteryear made a return to the sport.
Malanie Moodley (widow of the late Nanda Moodley after whom the tournament is named), in partnership with the Port Shepstone Volleyball Association, ensured this day/night tournament was a fun event for the whole family.
“We hosted this tournament in honour of my late husband and encouraged mass participation with the aim of persuading children to take up the sport,” said Ms Moodley.
Winners in both the social and premier divisions were presented with medals by the family of the late Nanda Moodley. The Port Shepstone Volleyball Association and the Moodley family would like to thank all clubs, volleyball players and fans for their excellent support of the tournament.
