Southerns edged out in rugby thriller

Next up is a game against Zululand at Kings Park Stadium this Saturday (23rd) at 12.30pm.

Southern KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Sub-union came up agonisingly short in its season opening clash against Durban S RSU at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground last Saturday.

The final score was 26-24 to the visitors who were arguably a touch fitter at this stage of the year and better equipped to handle the early autumn heat.

The hosts played into the wind in the first half and despite dominating the half, went into the break 14-all.

A fair number of South Coast Warriors played for the team, as well as players from Kapaailand, Kokstad and Ixopo.
