New cricket arena opens its doors
This sporting arena offers the best of the best facilities.
The South Coast community enjoyed the opening of the new South Coast Indoor Sports Arena in Izotsha last Saturday.
It opened with a bang, despite a few hours of ‘proudly South African load-shedding’, and co-owners Theo Nicholls, Jacques Cilliers and Andrew Curlewis were ultimately very pleased with the response and the excitement generated on the day.

Theo spent time umpiring, ‘Curly’ serving liquid refreshment on the hot day, and Jacques ensuring everything else ran as smoothly as possible.
The tournament was won by the team comprising Ashley Lombard, Craig Roux, Morné Bishop and Christo Walker.
They narrowly beat Junaid Dinbar’s Young’s Pharmacy team, only clinching victory on the last ball of the game!
His team comprised Luqmaan Iniethoola, Imraan Iniethoola, Sohail Desai and Irshaad Ajam.
The arena offers two up-market professional indoor cricket courts, a bar, big screen TV area and a comfortable lounge, plus a children’s area and play zone.
Jacques said he hoped the facility would attract players of all ages, and was looking forward to the various leagues that would get under way soon.
“The arena offers the best of the best facilities. In order for people to develop their cricket skills they need to be given the opportunity and we are giving them the chance,” he added.
He mentioned that they didn’t want just an ordinary indoor cricket venue.
“We wanted to provide sportsmen and women with first class facilities, a place to build skill, play hard sports and a place to enjoy a welcoming environment.”
