Jaco and Piet top of class at Izotsha golf day

Main sponsors of the day were Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach, Comfort Cool Airconditioning and Jaxx Restaurant.

There has been plenty golf on the go at Port Shepstone Country Club of late.

The Izotsha Primary golf day saw a full field turn out.

Winners on 47 points were Jaco van der Wal and Piet Fourie, followed closely by Ryan Roberts and Eric Johnson on 46 points.

In third place were Jesse Verster Jr (who has a better swing if not short game than his father, who is the club pro) and Danie Otto on 45 points.

All funds raised were for Izotsha Primary School.

Previous Wednesday competition winner was Tony van Niekerk on 38 points, with Eddie Fann on 37 points and Greg Hornby on 36 points.

The Friday business day saw lower scoring but the same winners in Sanjay Singh, Leon Bunge, David Rush and Paul Geoffery.

They had 89 points to win by three from Allan Rowley, George Bowie, Nicolaas du Plooy and Thys Eckhout, who counted out Phil Myburgh, Paul Bunge, Eddie Fann and Dave Mee.

It’s time for monthly mug this Saturday (20th).

The women played for the McKenzie trophy last Thursday, with winners being Juliana Ziervogel and Liana Klopper on +6.

The trophy was donated by Neil McKenzie (one of the founders of the club) and is believed to have been going since 1939.
