Two Oceans great prep for South Coast Ultra

The day started off cool and wet and the ultra runners had to contend with a route change.

Ten South Coast Striders took part in the Two Oceans Marathon, held in tough conditions in Cape Town last weekend.

This year Chapman’s Peak and Constantia Nek was not included.

Instead the runners had to go via Ou Kaapse Weg and Southern Cross.

This posed quite a challenge to some of the runners.

Daan van Niekerk battled with severe cramping but still managed to cross the finish line, which is the sign of a true ultra runner.
