Warriors hammer Collegians in eight try rout

RIVERSMEAD Warriors travelled to Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg last Thursday to take on Pmb Collegians.

The first team took control of the match from the first whistle and Pmb Collegians could not stop the constant wave of attack and set piece dominance.

The Warriors kept the ball in hand and entertained the spectators, running in eight tries to win 52-5.

Tries were scored by Dylan Kroon (2), Graeme Bester (2), Johan Gericke, Devan van Eeden, Chris Mitchell and Donovan Jonker.

Six conversions were slotted by Daryn Nyman.

Jacques Coetzee (forwards) and Johan Gericke(backline) were named men of the match.

The second team bounced back after the loss in their previous week’s match at Woodburn stadium.

Coach Tian Gericke worked hard on getting the players back to basics and the game plan during the week and it paid off.

They gave the opposition a hard time, running in six unanswered tries to win 34-0.

Men of the match were Dylano Gilden (forwards) and Christian Venter (backs).

Thanks were extended to main sponsors Riversmead Farms, Status Panel Beaters, Maser Security and Kencrete.

The Warriors will take on Ballito Dolphins at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground this Saturday (27th).

Second team game is at 2pm, followed by firsts.
