‘Just what the doctor ordered’ at PSCC

There was a fantastic atmosphere at the club.

The hugely popular Restoration Trophy, sponsored by Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach and The Garrun Group, took place at Port Shepstone Country Club recently.

It was won by Dr Ayoob Bux, his son Altaaf, Ganes Munsami and Peppy Govender on 172 points.

Paul Tedder, Liz Jones (Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach), Craig Symon (The Garrun Group) and Koos Jacobs. Paul and Koos won the consolation betterball section.

Taking the betterball honours were Paul Tedder and Koos Jacobs on 91 points, three ahead of Suveshan Iyaloo and Santhos Baskali.

Winners of the South Coast Hospice golf day last Wednesday were Bevis Fairbrother and Jimmy Parsons on 46 points.

They breezed in three clear of Christo Janse van Vuuren and Gavin van Wyk, who counted out Gerald Koch and James Coull.

Business day, which usually takes place on the second Friday of the month, has been moved to Friday, May 31 to accommodate the Construction Day this Friday.

In women’s golf, the WGSA Beekman Medal last Wednesday was won by Anne Baldrey (silver) and Jenny Hulley (bronze).

First through the field was Gloria Lundie.

The women played their third league match of the year, at Scottburgh, where they beat Southbroom 5-1.

Sheppie’s team comprised Kim Strauss, Sandi Burger, Jen Hulley, Cilla Lindsay, Cecelia Verster and Juliana Ziervogel.
