Herald Fishing: Fingers crossed for good sardine run
The bronze bream have also made an appearance and the scratchers have been rejoicing.
THE fishing has been very good of late for most of the facets.
The sardines are making their way up the coast and with the colder water temperatures that we are seeing we can hope to see a good run this year…fingers crossed.
Garrick have made an appearance and a good few have been landed already.

The fish have been coming out at most of the deep water points along the South Coast and the river mouth beaches as well.
Shad are the best bait choice at this time of year.
Please release as many of these gentleman fighters as possible.

The kob are also around with plenty juvenile fish around the river mouths.
These fish are abundant at the moment along the entire coast and greedily eat a paddletail or chokka bait.
Release as many as possible cause they are the fish for the future.
For those fishing for inedibles, there have been a surprisingly large number of sharks and rays around.
The most prevalent have been the grey sharks and the black spot reef sharks.
Redeye sardine and mackerel have been the baits of choice and both of these have out fished any other bait hands down.
The bass have been feeding well even with the colder weather starting to approach.
The cooler temperatures have meant the fishing has started to slow down in the higher altitude dams.
Tight lines and screaming reels.
