Mr Ngubane who works for Thompson Motors in Port Shepstone says his love for karate started when he was eight years old. At the age of 45, and as a holder of a black belt in karate, he loves every moment spent teaching karate at the Dojo Shotokan Karate Club in Gamalakhe.
The father of four now has his own children following in his footsteps and according to him, they are doing well. With numerous titles under his belt, he says he will not be stopping anytime soon.
Mr Ngubane is now preparing for another major tournament to be held in Durban in August.
“Taking third position at the Afcka senior tournament means a lot to me. I entered the under 70kg full contact which is not easy and I am proud of my achievement. I like everything about karate and it keeps me fit and well disciplined,” he said.
Mr Ngubane thanked his family, his sensei and Clive Thompson from Thompson Motors who have supported him throughout the years.
