Tweni Tennis Club quiz postponed

DESPITE blustery conditions, both on Wednesday and Saturday last week, three and four courts were filled at Umtentweni Tennis Club respectively.

Fortunately, the courts are reasonably well protected with all the lovely trees but every now and then the wind played havoc with the ball.

Unfortunately, members were not able to hold the quiz evening last week so it has been postponed to August 18.

It would be great to have everyone take part in this club fund-raiser, so please put your names on the list asap.

Remember R50 gets you a meal with dessert (for all the ‘sugar-babes’) as well as your quiz entry.

Teams will be drawn on the night so bring your family and friends along and have some fun.

Only two members have birthdays in August and both celebrate their special days on August 2.

Members wish Chris Polinski and Jesse Verster all the best.

It was great to see Chris back on the courts after quite a long break and members hope to see Jesse again soon as well.

Members are sad to hear of past member, Molly Williams’s death and condolences go to her family.

Molly served on the committee during her time as a member and went on to enjoy playing bowls once she gave up tennis.
