Herald Fishing: Great results on live bait
Lots of shad is being caught off Margate Pier and at Orange Rocks in Uvongo.
Rock and surf fishing is kicking off in a big way.
With some perfect weather and idyllic sea conditions, the past week has seen lots of fishing and plenty of fish.
Reports of a lot of shad being caught at the usual spots, namely Orange Rocks and Uvongo Pier in Uvongo, Margate Pier and Splash Rock in Port Edward.

There have been garrick caught at most of the usual spots. These fish have all gone for the large number of live baits in the area.
A couple of decent kob and garrick are being caught on live bait at Margate Pier.
Bronze bream still on the bite, but no fireworks.
Offshore fishing has been a bit slow but there have been tuna, daga salmon, geelbek and the odd amberjack.
Freshwater fishing has been going well in all facets.
Carp are feeding well and bass are attacking baitfish.
Trout fishing is still on a high and slightly warmer conditions are helping to get them more active.
Please remember to leave the areas that you fish in a better condition than when you got there. Take a few moments to pick up some litter and take it to the nearest bin.
