Off the Hook: Annual Sezela compo up soon

All proceeds from this competition will go towards the renovation of a mission home and church.

SHORE fishermen on the mid-South Coast reported catches of a number of small garrick last weekend, despite some relatively strong winds, while kayak fishermen were lucky with some nice sized tuna.

Sea conditions were fairly good throughout the week, although it was better to head out in the mornings as the wind started picking up more towards the afternoon.

It’s also good to report that the water has been crystal clear lately, especially in the Rocky Bay area, which has made fishing more fruitful.

The Adonai Baptist Church’s annual fishing competition takes place at Sezela on Saturday, September 28.

All proceeds from this competition will go towards the renovation of a mission home and church.

Entry is R100 per angler and lines will be out between Rocky Bay and Ifafa from 5am.

The weigh-in will be at Reubens Bay in Sezela, where food stalls will be available for competitors and spectators alike.

There are lots of prizes to be won, and there will be something for junior fishermen too.
