Off the Hook: Bad weather brings poor fishing
The few hardy souls who did brave the weather reported some luck with tuna and dusky rubberlips.

The weekend was no better, with heavy showers and strong winds the order of the day.

The few hardy souls who did brave the weather reported some luck with tuna and dusky rubberlips.
Rubberlips have pale grey-brown bodies that are usually darker on the top, and are oblong in shape.
They have thick lips – hence the name – and feed on bottom-dwelling invertebrates, small fish and seaweed.
The juveniles are found mainly around seaweed in shallow waters. Rock and surf fishermen are said to have landed some honeycombs.
Here’s hoping the coming week brings sunshine and tight lines.
